For my project 5 poster I wanted to do it in a Saul Bass style and here are some sample drawing of Saul Bass figures.  This concludes my final post.  Be easy world, be easy.

This was just me killing time and thinking about the original look of Marvel Comics Luke Cage during the 70's.

While sitting in a staff meeting, someone mentioned that we CPD don't have a mascot for a sports teams.  a couple of ideas were tossed about ranging from warriors to boars (amazing this got nicked).  As this was going on I ended up sketching to beginings of a hornet as a possible choice.

This came about after sitting down and drawing with my kids.  I had just finished reading a book on Graffiti and wanted to try my hand at it.

While sitting in a PBPA meeting my mind started to wander and this was the result.  Apparently the scanned image was reversed and I didn't notice it until now. Happens...  Enjoy!

While listening to George Clinton's "Do Fries Go with that Shake" and thinking of Farren's Pub and Eatery's Kobe Beef Burger with hand cut fries, I started sketching my own burger joint idea...Jo Nathan's Big & Thick.

Thought I would post two sketches this week. 

The first is just some random ideas in bubble form. The second was more bubbles and an idea for a stencil. One of my students calls himself Beast Nation and I thought it was funny and sketched a caricature of him with lettering...a work in progress.

Just finishing doing some scanning for this week and I thought I would add this scan.  It falls in line with previous afro-theme.  The sketch came as the result of talking with my oldest son about his fashion taste and just went downhill from there.

This sketch is the result of looking at some old 1970's photos of some of my fraternity (Omega Psi Phi) brothers.  

Gestalt Theory or bust...

Just finished homework assignment 2 and have posted it, along with my link to this blog.  After reading the assignment I was amazed that Gestalt's theory states the obvious, if it all looks good together and flows then its a good design. We'll see how this works when it comes time to start posting my work...

Ok, my first blog has been established and is up and running.  While it is somewhat simple in it's look, I'm overall pleased with it's design and look forward to adding more as the semester moves along.
